Solved my own medical issue?

Last night a small problem happened that amazingly I was able to fix myself, or so I think, without passing out.

When I was a little kid, I fell on my right knee one day, and a small wood splint got stuck in my knee. My aunt was not successful at getting it out. I remember crying out loud when she tried to get it out. The next thing I remember is that she gave up, and the wood splint stayed in there. (I kind of realize these days that she was not using the right tools to get it out.) It did not hurt – that is when my aunt left it alone. Well, the next day came, and I think I forgot all about it especially since it did not hurt. What happened next is that 10 years passed by without a hint about it.

Now 10-20 years later, I start to noticed this small fleshy knot like bump under my skin on my knee. I had no idea what it was. Over time, I noticed that it started to get larger. I did not know if it was cancerous or what. This problem did not occur anywhere else on me, and I was curious why this was occurring on my knee. At one point, I was able to recall the event that happened when I was a kid when I fell on my knee, and that wood splint got stuck in there. I immediately suspected this event as having something to do with this subcutaneous growth. I had no proof, it was just a strong feeling. The growth appears in the same spot where the wood splint got stuck, and no other knots like this occurred anywhere else. It just seemed likely related to the wood splint.
